Face-to-face PACT Meeting Return to Norden

Face-to- face PACT (Police and Community Together) meetings are set to make a return to Norden this week following their withdrawal last year in favour of a 'virtual' system.

The meeting are an opportunity for Community Police to meet with Homewatch coordinators, Local councillors, along with residents or business owners, to discuss policing matters in the area.

The meetings, which were traditionally very well attended in Norden were stopped last year when a new online system was introduced.  However, poor attendance and a number of technical issues resulted in calls for the face-to-face meeting to be restarted.

norden Ward Councillor Peter Winkler said: "The PACT meetings are an important part of our community safety activity and are an essential link between our community policing team and residents.  I am very please to see that our calls for the face-to-face meetings to be restarted have been successful."
