Norden Sure Start Children's Centre

We offer sessions and activities for children under five and the people who take care of them during the day (term time).  Older brothers and sisters are also very welcome to come and join in with their families during the school holidays.

The children's centre is situated within the Norden Community Primary School buildings although we have our own car park and front entrance which are at the bottom of the hill on Shawfield Lane.  Most of our sessions are offered from our centre but we also run sessions from the large hall in the school, Norden Library and Whittaker Moss Primary School too.

Our playroom is extremely well presented and equipped with all the latest educational resources which promote all aspects of child development.  Our staff team members are all highly trained, enthusiastic early years professionals who will, if requested, offer information, advice and support to our services users.   

Every activity we offer focuses on government targets for children and families - the “Every Child Matters” agenda.  We offer early learning activities that will prepare children for school; focus on healthy lifestyles by promoting breastfeeding, exercise and healthy eating; help you to keep your children safe; provide information about local training and work opportunities; and encourage you to make a positive contribution by getting involved.
